George Shaw, ‘No 57 (1996)’
George Shaw is an artist who uses Humbrol enamel paints which are normally used for model trains and aeroplane paints. This media creates a smooth surface creating realistic images based around his childhood home, Tile Hill in Coventry. I like how he creates an eerie, dull tone to his paintings. My favourite piece of his is ‘No 57 (1996) for the use of colours he has chosen which is used to create dark blocks of colour.
The use of his colour and realistic imagery created in his paintings inspired me to edit photos in the style of Shaw.
