To make the maquette I printed the image out and stuck it onto corrugated card. Then I googled industrial figures and pasted them on to a document and printed them out too. I then cut around all these images and placed them on top of some more card to create a scene similar to Track works. To improve this I could’ve used an image of just soil for the bottom bit of cardboard to make it blend in with the surroundings and add more detail.
For the image on the right, I pasted the costa cup image onto word and pasted the industrial figures as well. I then removed the background of the industrial figures and moved them to put them in the right place in front of the costa cup and grouped them together. This one looks more realistic due to the whole picture of the cup.
On 20/09/17 we went on a trip to Birmingham to look at the Ikon Gallery and the Gas Hall exhibition. As well as exploring the galleries we also got to explore Birmingham as a city and I wanted to use this environment to try and take photos in the style of Slinkachu using lego-like figures. I think these were successful but to improve these further I could have created more of a narrative within the images. For example the image on the left consists of sandbags, stones and an industrial figure- to make this more dramatic and in the style of Slinkachu I could’ve made the figure look like he was climbing the sand bag and the stones could’ve represented the danger of this activity creating a more engaging image.
