During the 3D workshop, we had to make maquettes inspired by our responses and research from Urban, rural and industrial theme.

First Maquette 14/09/17 |
Firstly I made a small maquette (above) inside of a cardboard box and used photocopied images from my sketchbook. I glued these on card and cut round them using a Stanely knife and glued them in. I could have added more height in the design and planned it out more and add more industrial and rural images to link them all together more. Also I could've incorporated more artists and styles from my sketchbook adding more texture to this response.

2nd maquette, 14/09/17 |
Then after making a maquette inside of a box I wanted to try and create an exposed one which allowed me to make taller images that I could stick onto some card. I tried to use a range of images and a few from my own work and responses to artists to improve the response of this theme in my maquette. I used images from my George Shaw inspired images, photo-grams and texture rubbings as well as quick sketches. To improve this design I could have made a 360 degree view rather than just the one perspective.
The videos (top is industrial themed, then rural then urban) above are stop motions of the process of making the match box maquettes. I made three matchbox maquettes and themed them, one rural, one urban and one industrial. I used photos taken from a trip to New York that i went to in 2016, photos from the B'ham trip with college, photocopies from my sketchbook and images from magazines as materials for these products. I glued them all onto card and used a Stanley knife to cut around them and then used a hot glue gun to stick them into the match boxes. After each picture was stuck down i took photos on the
Stop motion app to create these videos that show my progress.

Matchboxes 21/09/17 |
Above is a stop motion of my maquette moving so you can see the 360 view. I think this is the most successful maquette as i have used pictures from my sketchbook including responses to artists as well as B'ham trip. Also it isn't just one view point and it included aspects from rural, urban and industrial. I have also added wire to the bottom to include an industrial material. However to improve this i could've added colour to the back of the cardboard but the cardboard could be a response to Brian Griffiths as he also uses cardboard.
